Ask Me Anything

Hi Armagora, I’m Aram Hamparian, Executive Director at the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

I’m excited to announce that I will answer your questions on Armagora in this thread. We will discuss the ANCA’s lobbying efforts in the pre-election period, outline the established priorities, and explain the efforts to keep the Armenian cause significant to the U.S. leadership on Armagora.am.

I will answer your questions on Friday, September 20, at 7:00 p.m. and respond to some in the comments.

Let’s talk.

Dear Mr. Hamparian, given the ANCA’s longstanding efforts in advocating for Armenian issues, what concrete progress have you seen in recent years? Do you feel that the current level of U.S. political engagement is truly benefiting Armenia, or is it more symbolic? Thank you

Hi,

I’m Antoine BORDIER, author, consultant and journalist. I wrote : Arthur, the little prince of Armenia; Arthur, the little prince of Lebanon; and, Arthur, the little prince of Egypt.

Let me ask my questions :

  1. Why Armenians are so divided ?
  2. Why Francophonia is not a priority ?
  3. Why french art, culture, language, is not as widespread as it should be?
  4. Do you think that France has played, is playing and will play an important, even major, role alongside Armenia ?
  5. What are you waiting from France ?

Best regards,

Antoine BORDIER

Hi Mr Hamparian,
my question is what are ANCA’s main responsibilities during this pre-election period? What are your expectations from the U.S. presidential candidates?

Washington has been lenient on the ethnic cleansing of the Artsakh people, with no major sanctions on Aliyev’s regime. What is the current U.S. stance on the rights of the Artsakh people? After the upcoming elections, is it likely that the U.S. will offer stronger support for their rights?

Opinion on FPV drones with RPG warheads?
If the Armenian army were to adopt loads of FPV drones just like how Russia and Ukraine are doing, then Armenia could cheaply and effectively defend itself better against Azerbaijan.

What defines the Armenian – American today? What is ANCA’s strategy in continuing to build a robust community?

Mr Hamparian, what does ANCA do to support the illegally imprisoned Armenians in Baku?

How might the results of the upcoming U.S. elections affect U.S.-Armenia relations and the Armenian Cause?

Some argue that the Diaspora’s political influence is declining as Armenia becomes more independent and assertive, and that many Diaspora organizations will enviably lose their raison d’etre. Do you agree with this assessment? If not, how can the ANCA ensure its relevance in a rapidly changing Armenia?

Davit Sargsyan

Now that the Armenian Genocide is recognized in many countries, what is the ANCA’s long-term plan? Is there a risk that the organization could lose its drive without a clear next goal for the Armenian Cause? Is there a need to redefine what is the Armenian Cause and how would you go about it?
